Introduction
The new ArcGIS Pro Shorts Series is a series of short, 2 – 4 hour (1/2 day) classes designed with a focus on a specific ArcGIS Pro topic. These classes provide a more focused, deep-dive study into a variety of ArcGIS Pro topics.
Each class in the ArcGIS Pro Shorts Series will be taught in a variety of formats including live-online, classroom, and self-paced online. All classes in this series are designed to be completed in four hours or less. Each of the classes is also available through our Annual GIS Training License and ArcGIS Pro Training Bundle.
This Working with Selection Sets class is being provided as a free self-paced, online class. In this class you’ll learn a variety of techniques for creating selection sets including interactive selection and geoprocessing tools such as Select by Attributes and Select by Location. You’ll also learn how to edit the attributes of selected features, export selected sets to a new layer, and be introduced to a variety of miscellaneous topics for working with selected features.
A selection set in ArcGIS Pro is a filtering of features or rows. Selection sets can be created using several different methods including interactive selection initiated by drawing a geometry, Select by Attributes tool, and the Select by Location tool. Selected features will be drawn using a different symbology, which uses a light blue color by default.
Students will need to provide ArcGIS Pro software along with a valid login and license.
