Telling Your Story with Story Maps – Classic and Modern Mixed


Learn how to use your creativity to harness the power of imagery, maps, text, and other media to help tell your story in a unique and interactive style using Classic and Modern ArcGIS StoryMaps. You will learn the fundamentals of storytelling and receive tips and learn how to navigate the AGOL StoryMap options and configurations.


You will learn how to create a story from a variety of Classic StoryMaps and many template options. The course covers:

You will explore a list of well-refined themes and content blocks that can be used to customize and design your story. The course will dive into the creation of Express Maps from the ArcGIS StoryMap Builder and

This full-day course is intended for beginner students who may have some knowledge of ArcGIS Online and are looking to expand on their understanding of how to create interactive, online applications. No scripting skills necessary.

Students need to have their own computer hardware and either a free public AGOL account, a Storyteller license, or an ArcGIS Online Creator user-type or higher with a valid login.
