Introduction to the ArcGIS API for Python

The ArcGIS API for Python is a powerful, modern, and easy to use Pythonic library to perform GIS visualization and analysis, spatial data management and GIS system administration tasks that can run both interactively, and using scripts.

The ArcGIS API for Python is implemented using the online and on-premises web GIS platform provided by ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise respectively. The API has Python modules, classes, functions, and types for managing and working with elements of the ArcGIS platform information model.

The goal of this class is to teach attendees how to extend the Esri ArcGIS platform by using Python to serve to support a wide variety of GIS needs, such as analysis, visualization and administration tasks.

The class will consist of a balance between lectures and hands-on exercises. Those who would like to complete the exercises will need to bring a computer with Jupyter Notebook installed.

Attendees will be able to leave the workshop having a strong basis for recognizing and pursuing their ArcGIS customization needs, increasing the value of their ArcGIS investment and enhancing their standing and employability as GIS professionals.

This course is offered in a variety of formats including live-classroom, live-online, and hybrid.  This is a hands-on style workshop with lots of exercises designed to teach you how to automate your ArcGIS  geoprocessing tasks with Python.

"I have attended a number of instructor lead  training courses offered by ESRI, which are great in their own right, but the Mastering the ArcGIS Server JavaScript API course gets much more in-depth than they often do.  I really liked the recommended reading, they helped expand the terms being covered in lecture to concrete examples that could be related back to my work more directly instead of just having the lecture and exercises alone.  I learned a lot andwill recommend this and other GeoSpatial Training courses to the GIS'ers I know. Thanks for putting this course together and offering it ...
